Command and Control Systems

In order to ensure a regular supply of quality water, command and control systems are necessary, which allow automatic remote control of the water facilities.

Control over the water system in Israel requires the establishment of a control center, from which all the command and control systems will be operated   The extensive experience accumulated by EMS Mekorot Projects was required to develop such a system.

The data is gathered by the control center using instruments in the field, through the local and remote command and the command, control and operating systems.

The data flows in to the command and control center, 24/7, and provides an accurate picture of the situation at the facilities at the various sites.

Smart management of water and sewage facilities – EMS offers its customers the most advanced command and control systems. Using such systems, boreholes, pumping stations, industrial pumps, water treatment plants, desalination plants and sewage treatment plants can be efficiently, easily and simply controlled from the control center, saving manpower and operating and maintenance expenses.

The range of EMS’s services in this field includes:

  • Satellite, wireless, landline or cellular based remote command and control systems.

  • SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems and setting up main and subsidiary command and control centers.

  • Local command and control and HMI (Human Machine Interface) systems.

  • Setting up computer systems, communications networks and computer communications infrastructure.

  • Integrating data encryption technologies to create secure communications networks.

All the command and control systems are designed, manufactured and installed using the turnkey method, by the skilled EMS Command and Control Unit. This Unit consists of a team of engineers trained in various fields, such as electrical engineering, communications and computer sciences, who provide training and technical support throughout the process – from design to rollout and production mode.

Cathodic Protection against Corrosion

EMS Mekorot Projects sets up cathodic protection systems to protect pipes against corrosion, whether located in pipelines or in the pumping stations, using a range of technologies and implementation tools for advanced control.

The work is conducted by dedicated cathodic protection teams and includes, inter alia, laying zinc strips, building anode fields and installing rectifiers.

Upon the completion of the installation, the cathodic protection system significantly increases the life span of the pipeline and enables continuous operation for dozens of years.

Monitoring and Protection of Water Facilities

EMS Mekorot Projects is a global leader in its field thanks to its experience in monitoring and protecting the national water.

Currently the Company offers its services to any local or regional authority, water corporation or industrial factory that needs to protect end consumers against pollution, whether intentional or not. The monitoring and protection systems are designed as part of the overall concept of maintaining the quality and security of the water and are suitable for all types of water facilities: sewage treatment plants, water purification plants, boreholes, pumping stations, etc.

The water monitoring systems designed by EMS include advanced instrumentation for the continuous measurement of water quality according to a range of parameters, identification of water pollutants and command and control systems that protect the consumer against streaming water that is not fit for human consumption or for any other specific use.

The facility and system protection offered by EMS includes physical protection (a repelling fence), access control to facilities and the installation of a range of detectors and cameras.

EMS protects many water facilities throughout the country by means of dedicated command and control systems and advanced technological means.
